Young Places Eighth at IHSA National Championships

SYRACUSE, N.Y. – University of Minnesota Crookston hunt seat equestrian rider Selena Young (Sr., Plymouth, Minn.) completed a phenomenal career as a Golden Eagle by placing eighth out of 16 riders in Individual Open Flat at the 2019 Intercollegiate Horse Show Association (IHSA) National Championships held May 2-5 at the New York State Fairgrounds Expo Center in Syracuse, N.Y.

Young also made the IHSA National Championships as a freshman, and completed her career with a strong showing in Syracuse, N.Y. Young’s ride wraps up a great season for Minnesota Crookston hunt seat equestrian as they claimed the IHSA Regional Championship, advancing to IHSA Zone Championships, and sending Young to the National Championships. Coach Kayla Krueger returns a strong squad in both hunt seat and western disciplines heading into the 2019-20 season.
