Minnesota Crookston Jumping Seat Equestrian Has Great Weekend at IHSA Home Meets

CROOKSTON, Minn. – The University of Minnesota Crookston jumping seat equestrian squad had a great weekend in a pair of home meets at Charles H. Casey Equine Arena. The Golden Eagles earned High Point Team accolades Saturday, March 4 and tied for High Point honors with the University of Wisconsin-River Falls Sunday. Juliana Gullo (Fr., Itasca, Ill.) took High Point Rider honors Saturday, while Alexandra Wentland (So., Colorado Springs, Colo.) finished as the Reserve High Point Rider. In Sunday’s show, Kristen Borchert (Fr., Coon Rapids, Minn.) was High Point Rider, while Keira Boedigheimer (So., Colorado Springs, Colo.) took Reserve High Point Rider accolades.

The Golden Eagles had strong showings throughout the weekend. Boedigheimer took first in her section of Open Fences, while Josie Mills (So., Brandon, Minn.) finished second. Gullo took first in the second section, while Alex Pfaffenbach (Jr., Appleton, Wis.) finished second.

In Intermediate Fences, Wentland placed first, while Gabriella Siefkes (So., Aberdeen, S.D.) placed third. In Limit Fences, Borchert placed first, while Jessica Vinger (So., Dodgeville, Wis.) was fifth.

In Open Flat, Boedigheimer placed third, Mills fourth, and Pfaffenbach sixth. In Novice Flat, Faith Retzlaff (Fr., Columbus, Wis.) had a strong ride to place first, while Kayle Hines (Fr., Oconto Falls, Wis.) took third. In the first section of Intermediate Flat, Siefkes placed third. In the first section of Introductory Flat, Christina Fiedler (Fr., Burtrum, Minn.) placed first.

In the second section of Novice Flat, Isabella Abbas (Fr., Tea, S.D.) placed first, while Ashleigh Lueder (Jr., Rochester, Minn.) took fourth. In the first section of Limit Flat, Vinger placed fifth. In the second section of Intermediate Flat, Wentland put together a strong showing to take second place.

In the third section of Novice Flat, Jada Schimke (Fr., Maple Grove, Minn.) placed fourth. In the third section of Limit Flat, Borchert placed fifth. In the second section of Introductory Flat, Kiana Matejcek (Fr., Hunter, N.D.) had a fourth-place finish.

The Golden Eagles had continued success Sunday. In Open Fences, Boedigheimer placed second, Pfaffenbach third, and Mills fourth. In Limit Fences, Borchert had a great ride to take first, while Vinger finished sixth.

In Open Flat, Boediheimer placed first, Gullo second, and Pfaffenbach fifth.

In the first section of Novice Flat, UMN Crookston had a great showing with Retzlaff taking first, while Abbas finished fifth. In the first section of Intermediate Flat, Siefkes took fifth. In the first section of Introductory Flat, Fiedler had a strong showing taking first.

In the second section of Novice Flat, Lueder placed third, while Hines took fourth. In the first section of Limit Flat, Schimke placed second, while Vinger took fifth. In Pre-Novice Flat, Delainey Lancaster (Jr., Watertown, S.D.) placed fifth.

In the second section of Intermediate Flat, Wentland placed fourth. In the second section of Limit Flat, Borchert had a great ride to take first. In Introductory Flat, Matejcek placed second for the Golden Eagles.
