FARGO, N.D. – The University of Minnesota Crookston western equestrian team concluded the season with their final regular-season home meet at North Dakota State University and the 2021-22 IHSA Regional Championship in Fargo, N.D. The Golden Eagles had nine riders qualify for the IHSA Regional Championships, and advanced three riders to semifinals March 18-20 in Lubbock, Texas. April Klecker (Sr., Amboy, Minn.) will represent the Golden Eagles in Reining, after winning Regional Reserve Champion. Tristyn Bair (Sr., Winnebago, Minn.) will represent UMN Crookston in Ranch Riding, after earning Regional Reserve Champion. Beatrice Streifel (Sr., Hawley, Minn.) claimed Level II Horsemanship honors after earning a Regional Championship.

In addition to the three riders who advanced to the IHSA Semifinals, Minnesota Crookston had six more riders compete in the Regional Championship. Olivia Becker (Sr., Deer Park, Wis.) took home fourth in Open Horsemanship. Bair also took fourth in Level II Horsemanship, as well as what she was able to do in Ranch Riding. Fahren Kolpack (So., Ontonagon, Mich.) finished third in Level I Horsemanship. Ashton Wold (Jr., Devils Lake, N.D.) finished sixth in Level I Horsemanship. Zoey Haas (So., Farmington, Minn.) placed fourth in Rookie Horsemanship. Savanna Weber (Sr., Silver Lake, Minn.) finished eighth in Rookie Horsemanship, while Jenna Pedrow (So., Blaine, Minn.) claimed fourth in Beginner Horsemanship.
