Minnesota Crookston Jumping Seat Equestrian Earns Reserve High Point Team Honors Saturday at NDSU

FARGO, N.D. – The University of Minnesota Crookston jumping seat squad had a strong showing at the North Dakota State University meet in Fargo, N.D. The Golden Eagles claimed Reserve High Point Team on Saturday and Sunday. In addition, Morgan Schelske (Sr., Zimmerman, Minn.) was the High Point Rider Saturday, while Kendra Putzke (Jr., Esko, Minn.) earned Reserve High Point Rider honors on Saturday.

To open Saturday’s competition, Clara Lemarr (Fr., Sleepy Eye, Minn.) took first on Andie in Open Fences. Schelske claimed second on Moe, while Keira Boedigheimer (Fr., Colorado Springs, Colo.) finished fourth on Keenlan.

In Intermediate Fences, Josie Mills (Fr., Brandon, S.D.) had a strong ride to take second on Andie, while Katie Buttolph (Sr., Yankton, S.D.) took fifth on Keenlan. In Limit Fences section one, Katie Orth (Sr., Randall, Minn.) had a strong ride and took third on Forsale. In section two, Alexandra Wentland (Fr., Colorado Springs, Colo.) placed first with a great ride on Forsale, while Kaitlyn Fedewa (Jr., Cambridge, Minn.) took third on Buddy. In section three, Putzke finished a strong class to take first on Forsale.

In Open Flat, Schelske continued a strong day to finish first on Andie. Lemarr followed suit by placing second on Valachi, while Boedigheimer finished fourth on Tedi.

In Intermediate Flat, Orth had a great ride to take first on Moe.

In Limit Flat section one, Gabi Siefkes (Fr., Aberdeen, S.D.) placed second on Dezi. In section two, Wentland finished second on Dakota, while Fedewa placed fifth on Fraser. In section three, Putzke had a good ride to take second on Denver.

In Novice Flat section one, Alex Pfaffenbach (Jr., Appleton, Wis.) placed fourth on Buddy. In section two, Isabella Anderson (Fr., Bemidji, Minn.) placed second on Cope.

In Pre-Novice Flat, Samantha Strader (Fr., Winsted, Minn.) had a good ride to take second on Zip.

In Walk/Trot section one, Delainey Lancaster (So., Watertown, S.D.) placed fifth on Hunter. In section two, Ashleigh Lueder (So., Rochester, Minn.) had a third-place finish on Jewel.

Minnesota Crookston started day two, by taking second, third, and fourth in Open Fences. Schelske took second on Keenlan, Boedigheimer placed third on Moe, while Lemarr placed fourth on Keenlan.

In Intermediate Fences section one, Buttolph placed fourth on Andie, while Orth took fifth on Fraser. In section two, Mills took third on Keenlan, while Putzke placed third on Chico.

In Limit Fences section one, Fedewa placed second on Fraser. In section two, Wentland took third on Dani.

In Open Flat, Schelske had a great ride to take first on Bella. Lemarr followed by taking third on Peyton, while Boedhigheimer took fourth on Andie.

In Intermediate Flat section one, Buttolph had a strong showing and took first on Valachi, while Mills took second, and Putzke took fifth on Bella. In section two, Orth finished fifth on Keenlan.

In Limit Flat section one, Wentland placed fourth on Denver. In section three, Siefkes had a strong ride to take first on Bella, while Fedewa placed second on Fraser.

In Novice Flat section one, Pfaffenbach placed first on Dezi, and Anderson took second on Dezi.

In Pre-Novice Flat, Strader took fourth on Spotlight.

In Walk/Trot section one, Lueder had a great showing to take first on Hunter. In section two, Lancaster placed fifth on Brandy.

Minnesota Crookston returns to action with a pair of NCEA match-ups February 18 and 19 against South Dakota State University and University of Georgia in Brookings, S.D.
