Pony Lane Farm Performance Horses Make Waves at Tryon CSI 5*
Mill Spring, Nc. – Oct. 25, 2017 – The Pony Lane Farm team, based out of Bluffdale, Utah, dominated the competition at the Fall 5 CSI 5* competition at the Tryon International Equestrian Center over the weekend. Taking home tricolors and other high division placings, the Pony Lane Farm performance horses are at the top of their game and continue to make their presence known at prestigious competitions around the country.
Madeline Thatcher rode 13-year-old gelding Summer Place and 9-year-old Mecklenburg mare Like I Said to a one-two finish in the competitive Amateur-Owner 3’6″ Hunter division. Thatcher was thrilled with the performance of both horses in the ring that helped them claim their top placings.
“Summer has been with me for 7 years now and continues to be a dream,” Thatcher said. “He is the most reliable horse in the show ring and is well liked everywhere he goes. His rounds this weekend felt fantastic! He was energized with the cooler weather and happy to be showing after a month long break.”
“I am thrilled and extremely grateful to have two amazing horses be champion and reserve at Tryon,” Thatcher concluded. “Both Summer Place and Like I Said are great amateur horses. They forgive mistakes and always try their hardest.”
Like I Said also went on to secure a second place finish in the handy round of the large $20,000 USHJA International Hunter Derby, as well as fourth place in the classic round.
Thatcher rode Pony Lane Farm’s Sterling to a high placing in the Amateur-Owner 3’3″ Hunter division, while Haylie Rolfe and Queen Celeste also took several top placings in Green 3′ Hunter division classes.
In the jumper arena, Jayne and Chaviana claimed an impressive victory in the Open 1.30m Jumper class. Thatcher and her own Hannah rode to a good finish in the $500 Medium Junior/Amateur-Owner 1.30m Classic.
