Running from noon until 2pm, there will be a Kids Korner children’s party that will be held at the end of vendor row adjacent to Murphy Ring. The entire family is invited for the afternoon featuring horseless show jumping, face painting, and an ice cream social.
Spectators that are coming to watch the $130,000 Mary Rena Murphy Grand Prix CSI3* are invited to arrive early to the Rolex Tower prior to the start of the class for a Pre-Preakness Party at 6pm and enjoy some hors d’oeuvres. The Kentucky Horse Shows, LLC is hopeful to celebrate both Ellen and Always Dreaming winning the second leg of the triple crown as she would have wanted.

Born in Oswego, New York, Ellen dedicated her life to the equestrian industry, working as a nationally recognized horse show secretary in addition to a being certified USEF Steward. She served as an integral member of the Kentucky Horse Shows team and prominent figure in the Lexington community alongside her husband, American Hall of Fame Thoroughbred Racehorse Trainer, John Veitch. Survived by her husband, son, brother, and sister, Ellen will forever be a part of the fabric of the Kentucky Horse Shows so this Saturday we create new memories in the park to remember her legacy.
