Celebrate the Cold with a Sleigh & Cutter Festival
and Winter at the Barn in Dunvilla Feb. 4
Fargo, ND, Jan. 6, 2017 – Step back in time to a day where sleighs were an important mode of transportation across the prairies. Imagine many vintage sleighs, cutters and bobsleds being pulled by beautiful equines with heavy winter hair coats.
Members of the Midwest Minnesota Harness Club and Red River Harness Club invite you to enjoy the majesty of horses, ponies, mules and donkeys, pulling sleighs, cutters, and bobsleds at the 3rd annual Sleigh & Cutter Festival and Winter at the Barn at 9 a.m. February 4, 2017 at the Barn in Dunvilla, 48203 Highway 59 in Pelican Rapids, Minn.
According to Christy Bjorgan, event organizer, “Each year the event grows bigger with teamsters coming from all over MN and ND. We are also planning more activities in between show classes including shovel races and skijoring.” Free sleigh rides will be provided by Brian and Denise Layman.
Winter at The Barn includes a Boutique Show with 40 vendors featuring unique, vintage and repurposed creations, along with some of your favorite product line vendors. You can also dine at the lunch and snack counter for some hot sandwiches and goodies. The Boutique Show runs from 9am-3pm on Saturday.
Right next door, The Inn at Dunvilla is featuring a January special with $99 rates! Gather in the beautiful lobby, sitting in front of the fireplace. Enjoy some pizza along with beer and wine with your friends. Then finish the day by relaxing in the pool and hot tub. Call 218-863-8000, or go online to Choice Hotels.
