Minnesota Crookston Western Equestrian Set to Compete at NDSU and Regional Championships

CROOKSTON, Minn. – The University of Minnesota Crookston equestrian team will compete in IHSA shows at North Dakota State University Friday, March 26 at 6 p.m. and Saturday, March 27 at 1 p.m., followed by the IHSA Regional Championship at NDSU Sunday, March 28 at 11 a.m.

The Golden Eagles last competed in NCEA matches against Delaware State University and South Dakota State University Friday, February 26 and Saturday, February 27. UMN Crookston had a pair of home shows in Crookston February 20 and 21. The Golden Eagles earned Reserve High Point Team February 21. UMN Crookston was led by Olivia Becker (Jr., Deer Park, Wis.) earning Reserve High Point Rider February 21 and Alyssa Evavold (Sr., Battle Lake, Minn.) notched High Point Rider Saturday.

The Golden Eagles will be led this weekend by Becker, Jordyn Newberg (Sr., Deer River, Minn.), Adrianne Schaunaman (Sr., Aberdeen, S.D.), April Klecker (Jr., Amboy, Minn.), Evavold, and Rae Ann Michel (Sr., Monticello, Minn.) competing in the Reining. Becker, Newberg, Schaunaman, Klecker, Evavold, and Michel will also compete in Open Horsemanship.

Beatrice Streifel (Jr., Hawley, Minn.) and Tristyn Bair (Jr., Winnebago, Minn.) will ride in Level II Ranch Riding this weekend, as well as Level II Horsemanship.

Fahren Kolpack (So., Ontonagon, Mich.) will compete for the Golden Eagles in Level I Horsemanship, as will Savanna Weber (Jr., Silver Lake, Minn.). Rebecca Clark (So., Austin, Minn.), Ally Eblen (Fr., Belgrade, Minn.), and Zoey Haas (Fr., Farmington, Minn.) will compete in Rookie B Horsemanship. Grace Meyers (So., Fairmont, Minn.), Kayley Silva (Fr., Courtland, Minn.), and Jenna Pedrow (Fr., Blaine, Minn.) will round everything out by riding in Beginner Horsemanship this weekend.
