Lars Petersen Debuts New Ride in Prix St. Georges CDI 1*; Takes Home Blue Ribbon and Vita Flex Victory Pass Award

Wellington, FL (April 11, 2016)— In the pair’s first CDI competition together, famed Grand Prix dressage rider and trainer Lars Petersen rode to the top spot in the FEI Prix lars pedersen2St. Georges CDI 1* presented by YellowBird Farm aboard Svalegards De Luxe. Petersen and the eight-year-old Danish Warmblood gelding (De Noir x Stjerne Askelund), owned by Jane Wareham, performed an impressive test at the 2016 Adequan Global Dressage Festival’s final week in Wellington, Florida. The pair earned a 71.763 percent and the blue ribbon. In addition to the top honors, Petersen and Svalegards De Luxe captured the Vita Flex Victory Pass Award for their winning performance.

Vita Flex, a leading producer of high quality equine performance supplements, applauds winning combinations who cross the fine line between good and great. The company has continually presented the Vita Flex Victory Pass Award to winning competitors each week throughout the 2016 Adequan Global Dressage Festival, and was more than pleased to honor Petersen and Svalegards De Luxe to conclude the winter show season. The pair received a Vita Flex bucket filled with popular Vita Flex® performance products and an official Vita Flex Victory Pass Award ribbon.

The gelding was originally purchased as a young prospect by Petersen’s client Jane Wareham, who has been fostering Svalegards De Luxe under Petersen’s training and guidance ever since. Petersen explained that Wareham’s change in jobs has currently taken her away from the show ring, and she asked Petersen to take over the ride.

“It’s his first CDI ever,” Petersen said, “So I am just happy that I got around. We had some little bobbles here and there, but basically the hard movements he did really well. I am really happy with him— he is very talented and I am excited to have the ride on him for a little bit.”

Petersen was equally impressed with the gelding’s demeanor and ride-ability away from home under the intense atmosphere of the Adequan Global Dressage Festival show grounds. “He hasn’t been away from home for nearly two years other than a local national show I did with him, but that’s different. I think he handled this show atmosphere really well.”

As Petersen brings this new mount to success, he simultaneously represented Denmark in the Nations Cup team competition during the last week of the Adequan Global Dressage Festival. Petersen was delighted to receive the Vita Flex Victory Pass Award with Svalegards De Luxe. Vita Flex was equally pleased to honor this prospering partnership for their accomplishments and notable victory in the ring. Vita Flex wishes them much success in the future and was proud to present the pair with an array of popular performance products for their liking. As a sponsor of the 2016 Adequan Global Dressage Festival, Vita Flex helped ensure the excellence of the entire show season and presented many top riders with effective Vita Flex® supplements.
