Equine Voices Rescue & Sanctuary is Proud to Participate in Arizona Gives Day, April 4, 2017

Equine Voices Rescue & Sanctuary in Amado, AZ, a Southern Arizona non-profit organization dedicated to saving equines from neglect, abuse and slaughter since 2004, will be joining Arizona Gives Day, along with hundreds of other non-profits from all over the state on Tuesday, April 4th, to raise much needed funds. Through azgives.org, anyone from anywhere in the world can support Equine Voices for exactly 24 hours of virtual giving or may also pre-schedule their donations from now until 11:59 p.m. on April 4th.

Karen Pomroy, President and Founder of Equine Voices says “this annual event is crucial for our organization to meet our $40,000 per month expenses. Our participation last year allowed us to continue to rescue, rehabilitate and train equines in need”.

From 12:00 a.m. to 11:59 p.m. on April 4th, supporters of Equine Voices Rescue & Sanctuary can log onto equinevoices.org or call the office at 520-398-2814 to make a donation. These donations are so important to helping fund our local efforts throughout the year.

The mission of Equine Voices Rescue & Sanctuary is dedicated to saving mares and their foals that are used in the manufacture of the drug Premarin. Our mission has expanded to include equines that have been abandoned, abused, neglected, or used in the drug smuggling industry. To date we have rescued over 1,000 equines! We currently have 54 horses, 5 burros, and 2 mules in our care. In addition, we are responsible for 16 mares on a closed Premarin farm in Canada and a number horses that are being fostered off-site.  We operate through donations (including AZ Gives Day), events, sponsors, and grants. Equine Voices will continue to be a voice for all equines who cannot speak for themselves.

Equine Voices Rescue & Sanctuary is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization dedicated to saving horses and burros from neglect, abuse and slaughter. It is accredited by the Global Federation of Animal Sanctuaries GFAS), only the third equine rescue in the U.S. and the first in Arizona to meet the GFAS’ Standard of Excellence.
