Omega Alpha Healthy Horse Award Winners Positively Glisten at Colorado Horse Park Series

Parker, CO (June 28, 2017) – An off-the-track American Thoroughbred and a Hanoverian gelding new to the show ring both glistened with good health at the Colorado Horse Park, making them the most recent winners of the Omega Alpha Healthy Horse Award. The Omega Alpha Healthy Horse Award is presented throughout the Summer in the Rockies hunter and jumper show series in Parker, Colorado, to horses who exhibit excellent health through appearance and disposition.

his happy and solid performances in the USHJA 2’9” division under trainer Tess Harris, and for winning a flat class with his owner. Harris and Sunahara are based at Wells Bridge Farm in Parker.

“I’m so honored that Ampersand was noticed,” Sunahara said as she accepted the award. “I like the science behind Omega Alpha products, especially the Biotic 8 probiotics.” Ampersand has been at Wells Bridge Farm since January, and has been blooming in condition and ability ever since. “Wells Bridge really focuses on nutrition and is so responsive to the adjustments that horses like Ampersand need as they move up through their training. This was his first time showing in the 2’9” classes – he did the Baby Greens before that – and he was never out of the top 10! He’s so smart and so happy with his new job as a jumper. I’m looking forward to seeing how far we can continue to go together,” said Sunahara.

Meanwhile at the Colorado Horse Park, six-year-old Hanoverian gelding Dubrovnik was making his second-ever appearance in the Baby Greens and experiencing his third time cantering in a show ring. The Hanoverian’s good temper and glistening physique under rider Amanda Thomas earned him an Omega Alpha Healthy Horse Award, as well. The pair also claimed first, second, third, and fifth place finishes in the USHJA Hunter 2’3” division for owners Kit McClorey and Helen Dupruis of Indian Rock Farms, LLC.

“He’s a healthy horse, mentally and physically,” beamed McClorey. “This was only his second show and third time cantering a course! It’s hard not to love him; he’s still growing as a hunter but really wants to work, and is just as super on the ground.” The group is enjoying their time in the Colorado Horse Park after traveling from St. Louis, Missouri, to compete. “It’s a wonderful venue here at the Colorado Horse Park, and we’re thankful for this award,” said Thomas.
