Belle Sand Named IHSA Western Semifinals Open Individual Reining Champion

OCALA, Fla. – University of Minnesota Crookston equestrian student-athlete Belle Sand (So., Spicer, Minn.) competed at the IHSA Western Semifinals in Ocala, Fla., in March. Sand had a superb score of 144.5 to be named the IHSA Semifinals Open Individual Reining Champion.

Sand competed against 11 riders in Open Reining. She beat the second-place competitor by a margin of 3.5 points, and was one of only four riders to complete their pattern without any penalties.

Sand moves on to compete at the IHSA National Championships in Lexington, Ky. May 4-7.
