Minnesota Crookston Equestrian Has Strong Rides but Falls to Delaware State

FELTON, Del. – The University of Minnesota Crookston equestrian team was defeated 12-3 by Delaware State University Saturday, September 24 at Dovington Training Center in Felton, Del.

The Golden Eagles were guided by great rides from Juliana Gullo (Fr., Itasca, Ill.) in fences, as she scored 75 on Lophius to take a point. Ashlyn Montague (Fr., Draper, Utah) continued a strong day for the UMN Crookston freshmen as she scored a 69 in reining on  Boots to take a point. Fahren Kolpack tallied a 73 on Jac in reining to earn a Minnesota Crookston point.

Gullo also had a solid ride in flat on Denali with a 74, but she tied with her Delaware State opponent. The Golden Eagles had strong showings in horsemanship but were unable to earn a point. Ashton Wold (Sr., Devils Lake, N.D.) had a 73 on Brady. Belle Sand scored a 75 on Ella Mae for the Golden Eagles. Kolpack tallied a 75 on Lacey, while Olivia Becker (Sr., Deer Park, Wis.) had a 77.5 on Baby. Keira Boedigheimer (Fr., Colorado Springs, Colo.) had a strong ride in fences on River with a 78, but was defeated.

Minnesota Crookston will next compete in NCEA competition against South Dakota State University Saturday, October 15.
