Qualifying Point Adjustments for Maclay Regionals and Hamel Finals

Lexington, Ky. – July 15, 2022 – The 139th annual National Horse Show is set to take place at the Kentucky Horse Park October 26 – November 6. This year’s event will feature the $215,900 Longines FEI World Cup, $50,000 Hunter Classic, and the Maclay, Hamel and THIS equitation championships.
After careful consideration, the National Horse Show has made adjustments regarding the point requirements to qualify for the Maclay Regionals and Hamel Finals to compensate for the loss of competitive opportunities for our membership trying to qualify as a result of the EHV-1 outbreak earlier this year.

The point adjustments will be for California, all contiguous states to California, and the state of Washington. If other members feel they have suffered hardship in qualifying due to EHV-1 they can contact us directly and we will consider these on a case by case basis. The formula used for the adjustments were made for the COVID-19 pandemic.

The point values needed to qualify would change to:
Maclay Points:
California-29
Washington-15
Oregon-15
Arizona-15
Nevada-9

Hamel Points
California-27:
Washington-13
Oregon-1
Arizona-13
Nevada-8
