Eventing: stars from around the world in Morawa
Poland, Strzegom, July 29: More than 270 horses, 8 classes, top athletes – Strzegom Summer Tour, an international eventing show, starts in a few days.
Eventing is also called the equestrian triathlon. It is one of the most difficult equestrian sports, where the horse and rider have to face three trials: dressage, cross-country and showjumping. Athletes from 18 countries will compete during three days, in national and international classes of various difficulty levels.
Some of the best eventers will come to Strzegom, including Michael Jung – a multimedalist, current and two-time Olympic champion and the first rider ever to hold three big titles at the same time: European champion, world champion and Olympic champion. The audience will have the chance to see Sandra Auffarth, the bronze Olympic medallist and world champion, as well as Dirk Schrade and Andreas Dibowski, team Olympic champions.
Polish riders will include Jan Kamiński, Mateusz Kiempa and Mariusz Kleniuk.
The show will start on Friday. During the first days, riders will complete their dressage tests. Cross-country, the most spectacular one of the trials, will be held on Saturday and Sunday. The final trials of cross-country and showjumping, that will determine the winners, will take place on Sunday.

Admission is free of charge.
