The University of Minnesota-Crookston has announced a CHA All Discipline Standard Instructor’s Certification Clinic.

To take place July 27-31 at the University of Minnesota-Crookston Equine Center, this is a rare opportunity for instructors to become a part of North America’s largest riding instructor certification organization, at a location convenient to the northern part of the Midwest.

CHA’s goals are to promote safety, education and quality in group horseback riding programs and develop qualified riding instructors for camps, stables, schools and other locations where riding instruction is given. The clinic is designed to certify riding instructors and improve teaching techniques. Riding Instructors can be certified for the style of riding that they teach, Western, English, etc. CHA also awards an Assistant Instructor rating to those qualified. Nearly 1,000 instructors are certified by CHA each year.

Participants have the opportunity to teach several mounted and ground lessons; receive feedback from the other participants and the clinic instructors; and to improve their safety, herd and program management skills.

CHA publishes manuals and materials especially designed for riding students and instructors. Prior to clinic arrival, and after receipt of registration and deposit, participants receive all necessary manuals. It is important that participants come prepared, as there will be little time to study during the clinic.

Participants will be evaluated on their level of expertise coming into the clinic. Participants must have prior horsemanship experience. Early registration is necessary to reserve a place.

The cost of this clinic will be $800, which includes lunch daily use of University horses and tack, manuals and certification/membership fees. For more information or to enroll, please contact:
