Neue Schule Ambassadors Laura Graves and Steffen Peters Triumphant at U.S. Dressage Festival of Champions

Wellington, FL (December 17, 2015) – Neue Schule Bits is committed to sponsoring riders who are dedicated to success at all levels. This past weekend, Neue Schule Ambassadors Laura Graves and Steffen Peters brought a double dose of success to the U.S. Dressage Festival of Champions presented by the Dutta Corporation. Graves and Verdades, her own 13-year-old KWPN gelding (Florett AS x Liwilarda, Goya), rose to the top in the Grand Prix and the Grand Prix Special and placed second in the Grand Prix Freestyle to claim the overall 2015 Dutta Corp./USEF Grand Prix Dressage National Championship crown. Although Graves snared the overall win from Peters and Legolas 92, the Four Winds Farm’s 13-year-old Westphalian gelding (Laomendon x Furstin, Florestan II), Peters was the king of the Grand Prix Freestyle Saturday night under the lights on December 12.

Graves’ high score in the Grand Prix (which was worth 45 percent of the overall total score) and in the Grand Prix Special (worth 40 percent), and her second place finish in the Grand Prix Freestyle with a 77.125 percent propelled her to the top— and allowed her to break Peter’s four-year winning streak at the championships. With this win, Graves is well on her way to achieving her seasonal goals of qualifying for the 2016 Reem Acra World Cup of Dressage to be held in Gothenburg, Sweden, in late March.

Peters and Legolas 92 prevailed over Graves in the Grand Prix Freestyle with a score of 77.675, to place second overall in the Grand Prix Championships. Peters and Rosamunde, Four Winds Farm’s eight-year-old Rheinlander mare (Rock Forever x First Lady, Fidermark), placed third overall in the Championships with a combined score of 73.741 percent.

Neue Schule was proud to watch ambassadors Graves and Peters maintain the top spots throughout the entire Festival of Champions competition. In their Neue Schule bits, both Graves and Peters have also consistently scored well in international competition. Graves is currently ranked 15th in the world, and Peters is slotted at number eight in the rankings. Both riders rely on Neue Schule bits to ensure the most comfortable and consistent contact with their mounts— and, with impressive results like these, they are undoubtedly doing something right.

Neue Schule offers a range of high performance, comfortable bits that are ergonomically designed, using the latest in engineering and computer aided design (CAD) technologies and incorporating a unique metal alloy, Salox Gold®, with an increased conductivity that promotes acceptance and responsiveness.

Neue Schule is delighted to sponsor riders that not only have outstanding results in the show ring, but who are also dedicated to the well-being and comfort of their horses. Mette Larsen, President and founder of Metlar Premium Performance Saddlery (which distributes Neue Schule Bits throughout North America), said, “Neue Schule is so proud of the performances of our riders at the Festival of Champions— all of our sponsored riders had great rides and we are happy to be on this journey with them and their incredible horses.”
